Inventory & purchasing

Prepare and review a stock count

Use a physical count to investigate differences in recorded quantities.

Work through a count

  1. Choose the store, then open Inventory → Stock counts.
  2. Choose the items and follow the count workflow shown for that location. Keep physical shelves, bins and item variants clearly separated.
  3. Enter the quantities actually counted. Investigate mismatches with recent receipts, repairs, returns and transfers.
  4. Review the count and its differences before applying any supported adjustment.

Make the result meaningful

A count is most useful when the team knows which inventory movements happened while it was being taken. Avoid having two people independently adjust the same discrepancy.

A zero or missing count is not necessarily a sale, loss or customer return. Record the explanation supported by the physical review and retain the count history.

About this AI guide & voice

AI answers can make mistakes. Messages are processed by OpenAI, or a configured Gemini or xAI Grok backup if a provider is unavailable. Voice clips you choose to record are processed only by OpenAI. Voice becomes an editable draft before you send your question. RepairHQ does not save this chat or recordings to its database; refreshing clears the page’s conversation. The processing provider’s retention policies may apply. Please leave out passwords, payment details and customer records. This guide cannot access or change your shop.

Typing works without microphone access. The microphone runs only while you record. Questions and recordings have usage limits.
